Today is my 20th wedding anniversary. Yep, my husband’s managed to stay reasonably sane despite being married to me for twenty years. This is a true accomplishment, because I am surely one of the most difficult women in the world. 🙂

As the Bard wrote:

Ay me! for aught that I could ever read,
Could ever hear by tale or history,
The course of true love never did run smooth;
But either it was different in blood—

O cross! too high to be enthrall’d to low.

Or else misgraffèd in respect of years—

O spite! too old to be engag’d to young.

Or else it stood upon the choice of friends—

O hell! to choose love by another’s eyes.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Act 1, scene 1, 132–140

Ours was definitely misgraffed in years, but we’ve endured despite our many struggles. And here’s a love song for my love. “Smoke gets in your eyes” by The Platters.

Love you, baby.
